Weather Alert : Storm damage reported across North Texas

The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH until 8:00 pm Thursday for Brown and neighboring counties. This means that there is a chance of severe thunderstorms happening in this area. You should monitor the weather closely and be prepared to move to a safe place if necessary.

The watch means severe storms are possible and they could produce damaging wind and large hail. As of 1:45 pm, a line of storms had developed from west of San Angelo northward to Snyder. Behind the line of storms is a dust storm with very low visibility over much of West Texas. The wind speeds in this area are over 50 mph. You can listen to KOXE 101.3 for weather updates and warnings.

(The map shows a lot of areas in the United States that are in a “severe thunderstorm watch” because there is a chance that there will be strong thunderstorms)
